Grumpy’s Bazaar is a retail website serving the automotive modellers of South Africa.
We specialise in automotive model kits – no planes, armour, ships, figures, R.C. or die-cast … and definitely no Barbie Dolls!
Unlike some of our competitors, we do not simply list the stock sheets of suppliers and then order from them when you buy something! Everything you see on this website is on our shelves in Kimberley… unless of course it’s listed in the “Stock Landing Soon” section.

We will then send you an invoice with everything you need to know in order to proceed with the purchase.
PAYMENT
The best method of payment is to do an electronic transfer via your internet banking.
If you are “old school” and going to go to the bank teller to deposit cash into our account, please add R30.00 to the amount payable to cover the dreaded cash deposit fees.
Please note that we only have credit card facilities for walk in customers.
SHIPPING
The moment your payment reflects in our bank account, your order will be shipped. We mail to all destinations in South Africa with TheCourierGuy or Postnet. Please let us know which service you prefer.
The amount payable for delivery will be shown on your invoice.
As soon as the parcel is shipped, we will notify you of the tracking number.
INSURANCE
Anything you order will be packed into a corrugated cardboard box before it is sent. However, despite our best efforts, damage can happen in transit. Parcels can be insured, but obviously it adds to the delivery costs. It is up to you as the customer to decide whether you would like to insure your parcel.
Please note that Grumpy’s Bazaar cannot be held responsible for any damaged or lost parcels that are not insured.
Here is an overview of the insurance options offered by the various couriers.
THECOURIERGUY: Road freight parcels are insured at a rate of 3% of the contents value.
POSTNET: Parcels are insured at a rate of 5% of the contents value.
When you place your order, we do not automatically add the optional in-transit insurance. If you would like to include the in-transit insurance, in please let us know that you would like to have it included.
Also, PLEASE NOTE that all insurance claims need to be lodged within 24 hours of receipt of your parcel.
